- CHILD ABUSE
Child abuse is a concerning issue for school systems across the state of South Carolina. Each year countless students are reported as being abused. As educators it is our job to protect our students and report any suspected abuse to authorities. This training module uses the state prepared abuse videos to assist in training staff members on the signs and processes used when reporting abuse. It discusses Erin's Law and provides links to resources for creating lesson plans to address this tough subject matter.
To complete the required module training click here and use your email address and default password to begin the training. This is a required activity and must be recorded yearly in your personnel file.

ERINS LAW LINKS - JASON FLAT ACT
Suicide has become an increasing problem among school age children. Dillon County has seen approximately 3 suicides of school aged children in the last 16 years. For our small community this is an alarming figue. The Jason Flatt Act Professional Development site is designed to offer teachers a means of learning, understanding, and identifying possible students at risk. Visit the Jason Foundation web site (www.jasonfoundation.com). Find the GET INVOLVED tab at the top and select the EDUCATOR, YOUTH WORKER, COACH option then the PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT link. Select SOUTH CAROLINA in the dropbox in the middle section. Click the VIEW TRAINING MODULES and it will take you to a login screen. If you do not have a login register at this time. This is a required training for recertification. - BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS, CPR, FIRST AID, AED
The Dillon County Technology Center offers faculty and staff members multiple options in first aid, CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens training. We offer on site training twice a year through our EMS department as well as online training for those unable to participate in on site. The online training is located at https://www.americanbls.com/ - It is important to promote and support a safe work environment for faculty, staff, and students in attendance at our center. Our goal is to present learning in a way all individuals feel included and safe, free from harassment. Employees must complete the Sexual Harassments Training Online through the New York City Human Rights Law Act at https://www1.nyc.gov/assets/cchr/training/english/index.html. The training will take approximately 45 minutes to complete and you will receive a certificate at the end. Do not leave or exit your browser or you will start from the beginning.

The VIRTUALSC web site offers visitors an opportunity to earn professional development credit online. The site offers instructor led or self-paced learning for members. Visit the Virtual SC Site. - TEACHER FIRST PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES

Microsoft Edcuation is an online, free learning tool to train educators. You simple login using the OFFICE 365 access which will be your school email address and a password assigned by the IT department. Once in simple select the courses you would like to take and complete the assignments. The course will provide you with certificates to turn in for renewal credit. Please keep a copy of all documents turned into the office for your records. - GOOGLE FOR TEACHERS
