Welcome a Little Information about Our Programs

Dillon County Technology Center Dual Enrollment Program

The Dillon County Technology Center is a stand-alone career center. We offer students the opportunity to attain real-world training while in high school. We over dual credit to our students through our partnership with Northeastern Technical College. Through this pairing we are able to provide all high school students with an opportunity to earn college credit while finishing high school.

Our program goes beyond the traditional textbook approach to education.  We utilize work-based learning opportunities, training, and hands-on approaches to support the student's skills attainment. Throughout the year we will need information from you, the parent.  We also support our students by assisting them with their IGP, college application(s), and completing FAFSA. Please contact us if you have any questions, we are eager to help.

**Please remember to bring your tax records when completing FAFSA.

Q & A

How can attending the Career Center help my child if they want to go to college?
Attending a Career Center can be a great advantage for students who plan to attend college. While Career Centers are often associated with job training, they also help students build skills and credentials that make them stronger college applicants.
Some of the benefits include:
  • College and Career Readiness
  • Advanced Coursework and Certifications
  • Exploration of Career Paths
  • Scholarship Opportunities
  • Hands-On Experience
  • Stronger Applications and Résumés
  • Networking and Mentorship
If my child goes to Northeastern Technical College they will use up all of their PELL Grant.
Students attending Northeastern Technical College who attend classes in the 9 through the 12 grade will only use 2 years of the PELL Grant money.  PELL offers students funding for six years. However if a child finishes a four year college in 4 or less years the money does not roll over. If the student doesn't use the extra 2 years for high school credit they will lose it.  This is free money to you, the student to pay for college.
